Mr. Paul Mitcham, Community Services
Rivergrove Community Centre
The new Rivergrove Community Centre design started as an “environmentally sensitive” site project which has transformed through the constructive and diligent input of user groups and council members, into an integrated-user friendly recreation facility reflecting the diverse needs of new communities in Mississauga North.
The facility is laid out along an internal multilevel pedestrian axis anchored by a Credit River Valley Entrance and Main Entrance points. The design accommodates the proximity of the protected Scots Pine tree by maximizing the close contact of the bathers with the natural setting, as well as capitalizing on long distance axial vistas of the facility from Rivergrove Avenue.
The new facility showcases the following exterior and interior elements:
Gateway to the Culham Trail and to the Credit Valley Trails
2 full size Baseball Playfields
Aquatic Facility with a 25m 6-lane competition and connected tank leisure pool
