Wind Energy Systems (WES):

Wind Energy Systems (WES) are part of the Atmospheric Energy sub-group of Earth Energy Systems (EES).  Wind energy is a global phenomenon and it is the world's fastest growing energy source.  WES utilize new technology to provide us with another piece of the pollution-free energy puzzle.

1)    History of Wind Energy Use
2)    WES has come a long way since its prototypes of just 20 years ago.  Present wind turbines are state-of-the-art modern technology with modular capabilities, quick installation and wide range of energy output.  Turbines range from few kW to 3.5MW (100m high).
3)    Recent local application in Canada (Toronto area) is project by "Wind Share".
4)    Very good sources of WES impartial information are: Canadian Wind Energy Association,  European Wind Energy Association (EWEA); American Wind Energy Association (AWEA); Wind Power Monthly; Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Network (EREN); British Wind Energy Association;
5)    Wind Force 12 Initiative launch (Press Release, Executive Summary, Full Report)
